Doris "Jackie" Thomas Overby

Doris “Jackie” Thomas Overby, 64, of 1741 Perkinson Road, gained her wings and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Durham officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at Tammy Cordova’s home, 465 Gravel Hill Road in Ruffin. Mrs. Overby was born in Danville, VA and the daughter of the late Charles and Marion Thomas. She enjoyed helping her husband on the farm, working in the greenhouses, serving her customers at the farmers market and spending time at the beach with her family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Overby; her four infant children; and her brothers, Dennis Thomas and Jimmy Thomas. Survivors include her son, Bradley Jackson Overby of the home; her sister, Hilda Justice of Pelham; brother-in-law, Duane Overby and wife, Jeanette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
