San Antonio, Texas- Doris Craddock Payne, 69, of Reidsville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas.. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery Doris was born January 11, 1940, in Mayodan, North Carolina to the late Louis Everett and Cordelia Shough Craddock. She retired from Macfield. In addition of her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Reid Payne and brothers Louis and Howard Craddock. She is survived by Roger Allen Payne of Atlanta, Ga., Anita Louise Rhude and her husband, Carl, of San Antonio, TX., Bruce Dale Payne and his wife,Trina of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl and Brian Wilson Payne and his wife, Kara of Brown Summit. She was a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, Melissa Markie Rhude of New York City, Benjamin Alecsander Payne, Murryn Celta Payne and Sophia Finona Patrice Payne of Brown Summit; Triton Reed Payne, Paul Adrian Payne, Autumn Fern Payne and Callista Mariah Payne of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.. She is also survived by her loving brothers and sisters, Ellen“Peggy” Holly of Reidsville, Alice Flippen of Madison, Robert Craddock of Eden, Thomas Craddock of Sandy Ridge, Elizabeth “Polly” Craddock of Germantown, Lois Tilley of Summerfield, JoAnne Williams of Stoneville, many nieces and nephes and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday March 28, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM and other times at 1952 Ashley Loop Road, the home of Ellen Holly. The family and friends are welcome to gather at Ellen’s house following the funeral service.
