Doris Williams Watkins, 75, of Reidsville, joined her husband in Heaven on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. John Marks officiating. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Helen Robertson, 1105 Benton Lane, Reidsville. Doris was born in Rockingham County to the late Herman Louis Williams and Minnie Louise Brown Williams. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Wayne Watkins in 1965. She was of the Baptist Faith and worked many years as a food service manager at Winn Dixie and Harris Teeter and in her spare time did clothing alterations for many. She was known for making elegant wedding cakes and created wonderful paintings, which she shared with her family and friends. After retirement she helped her sisters with Southern Charm Estate Services. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Watkins and son, David Wayne Watkins; and an infant great grandson, Jeremiah. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Leigh Watkins Carter and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Amanda Carter Link and husband, Christopher, Katelin Carter, Amber Watkins Slade and husband, James and Jonathan Watkins; great grandchildren, Parker, Alexander, Chante, Alexus, Andraea, Jayden, Marina and David; sisters, Helen Robertson and husband, Roger and Hazel Hill; daughter-in-law, Joy Hiatt Watkins.
