Dorothy Hall Griffin

Reidsville - Dorothy "Dot" Hall Griffin, 75, of 129 Clifton Drive, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Booker and Rev. Heath Lloyd officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.Mrs. Griffin was born in Rockingham County, NC and was the daughter of the late Clifton and Virginia Alcorn Hall. She was a homemaker and a longtime and faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was especially proud to be a military wife and mother. She lived with a profound respect and honor for those men and women who sacrificed, serving their country in the military. She and Frank enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships of other military families throughout their entire life. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin T. Griffin, Jr. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her children, Clifton Terry Griffin and wife, Cindy of Valrico, FL and Debra Griffin Martin of Oak Ridge, NC; her grandchildren, Victoria and Jennifer Griffin and Ryan Martin; her brother, Jerry Hall and wife, Francine of Carolina Beach, NC; sister-in-law, Sara Griffin Walker of Reidsville; special aunts and childhood companions, Jeanette Alcorn Saunders and Bobbie Alcorn Booker and other extended family members. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Griffin's caregiver, Gayle Martinez.
