Dorothy Gilley Robertson

Reidsville: Dorothy Gilley Robertson, 91, of 194 Spice Road, went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2014 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Reidsville Alliance Church with Rev. Peter Dodge officiating. The burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Robertson was a native of Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Henry T. and Gracie Lamberth Moore. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Reidsville Alliance Church and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the beach, fishing, cooking and growing flowers. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Eldridge Robertson; her grandson, Eddie Tate; sisters, Ruth Corum, Bobbie Jean Taylor and Mary Lee Loftis; and brothers, Calvin Gilley, Malcomb Gilley and Robert Gilley. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Robertson Tate of the home; grandchildren, Janie Tate of the home; John Tate and wife, Keesha of Ruffin; granddaughter-in-law; Elke Tate of Waynesville, NC; great grandchildren, Ann Marie, Tommy, Brandon, Isaac and Ivan; sisters, Helen Davis, Margaret Griffin and Betty Gunn all of Reidsville and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 22 from 6:00 - 8:00PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
