Douglas Franklin Walker

Reidsville: Douglas Franklin Walker Sr., 65, formally of 220 Manley Farm Road, died on Friday, April 25, 2008 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P M, Monday, April 28, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duane King officiating.   Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Walker was born in Rockingham County to the late Clifford Dodson and Mary Amanda Walker.   He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church.   Douglas enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, fishing, hunting, travel, farming and most of all living life to the fullest.   Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by son, James Russell Walker and grandson, Frank Clifford Cunningham. He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Walker of the home; sons, Douglas Walker Jr. and Brian Walker and wife, Michelle; daughters, Brenda Walker, Wendy Byrd and husband, Robert, Stephanie Cunningham and husband, Darrell and Connie Walker and husband, Marvin Castaneda; 9 grandchildren; brother, John Compton; sister, Bessie Nickels and husband, Sam; and several nieces and nephews.
