Early Sam Adams

Pelham: Early Sam Adams, Jr, 80 of 6683 Old US Highway 29 died on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Annie Penn Hospital.A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20th at Lively Stones Baptist Church.Mr. Adams was born on January 13, 1931 in Danville, Virginia but lived most of his life in Caswell County. He worked twenty-two years with the City of Reidsville Water Treatment Plant and was a retired tobacco farmer. He was a charter member of the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department and was among the first group of firemen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Early Sam and Katie Norton Adams; wife, Doris Wilson Adams; one grandchild; six brothers and five sisters.He is survived by his daughter, Gail Baldwin and husband, Carroll; son, Harold Adams and wife, Rose; grandchildren, Julie Baldwin, Wayne Baldwin and wife, Lisa, all of Pelham; great grandchildren, Garrett Baldwin and Lauren Allen; brother, Jessie Adams and wife, Betty Jo of Reidsville.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, August 19th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of Gail and Carroll Baldwin, 6789 Old US Highway 29, Pelham.Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Adam's honor to the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
