Edd Lee McCreary

Edd Lee McCreary, Jr. 86, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at UNC Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Edd was born in Surry County to the late Edd Lee McCreary, Sr. and Hester Willard McCreary. He was a retired Sergeant First Class in the US Army. He served in the Cold War, Korea, German Occupation and the Vietnam era. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Nona Sue McCreary. He is survived by his children, Cathy Brown, Ed McCreary and Michael McCreary; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; brother, Phillip McCreary; and sister, Joann Hodges.
