Edgar Jeff Ellington

Reidsville: Edgar Jeff Ellington, 100, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Penn Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 6, 2016, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Charles Vaughan officiating. After the service the family will greet friends in the Mt. Carmel Fellowship Hall and at other times at the son’s home. Edgar was born on November 7, 1915, in Rockingham County, to the late Jeff and Carrie Martin Ellington. He was a retired farmer in the Monroeton Community, a former employee of Love Tractor Sales, and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Etta French Ellington, his brothers, Woodrow, Paul, Jack and Earl Ellington, and his sisters, Jettie and Ruby Page. Survivors include his son, Wayne Ellington and wife Ivie; his grandchildren, Angela Martin and husband Keith and Byron Ellington and wife Stephanie; his great grandchildren, Walter and Seth Martin, Mary Catherine, Morgan and Emma Ellington, and his brother James Ellington.
