Edith Giles Massey

Reidsville - Edith Giles Massey, 103, formerly of 1307 Wentworth Street, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012, at Carolina House.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Jones officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Massey was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late George and Lillie Easley Giles and was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company. She was a member of First Congregational Christian Church and was an avid gardener. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Massey; daughter, Joyce Bishop and her brothers and sisters. Survivors include her grandsons, Bobby Smith and Ronald C. Smith; sister, Eva Oakley; niece Cheryl Oakley; sister-in-law, Tommie Carter and many extended family members.
