Edwin Clark Meeks

Edwin C. Meeks, Jr., 79, of Reidsville, entered his eternal home on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 24, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, May 23rd from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home of Timmy and Mandy Meeks, 607 McCoy Road, Reidsville. Edwin was born in Rockingham County to the late Edwin Clark Meeks, Sr and Ruby Roberts Meeks. He was a lifelong resident of Reidsville and in his younger years worked in the family business then went to work at Lorillard, Miller Brewing and retired from CCHT. He could be seen selling produce all over Rockingham County. He was known for his comical nature , loved all sports, especially baseball, playing in many leagues, which he reluctantly gave up at 45. He was a member of Baptist Temple Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Presley Meeks; sister, Sandra Moore and niece, Suzanne “Susie” Wilson. He is survived by his sons, Eddie Meeks and Timmy Meeks (Mandy) and Lawrence Rabon, Jr.; grandchildren, Amber Dearing (Maggie), Josh Lewis (Angela), Tristan Strader, Gracin and Hayden Meeks and Jaden Rabon; great grandchildren, Roman Goins, Albert Barber, Rayla and Ryder Lewis; special friend, Mildred Rabon; brothers, John and Mark Meeks; sister, Peggy Lewis; many special nieces and nephews.
