Edwin Victor Sandling

Reidsville: Edwin Victor Sandling, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at The Brian Center and Rehab facility in Yanceyville, NC A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 13, 2017, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating. Mr. Sandling was born on December 7, 1938 in Wake County to the late Robert Caswell Sandling II and Vida Jones Sandling. Mr. Sandling served in the NC National Guard. He was Plant Manager of Golden Belt MFG in Reidsville, NC. He played softball and coached Little League and the Mickey Mantle League Baseball. He was an auxillary Police officer for the Reidsville Police Department and was a Duke Blue Devil fan through and through. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lalene Page Sandling; sister, Joyce Sandling Jenkins; and brother, James Arthur Sandling. Survivors include his son, Mickey Sandling and wife, Teresa of Reidsville; daughters: Bobbie Sandling Tate of Sutherlin, VA and Robin Sandling Collins and husband, Garry of Reidsville; grandchildren: Cory Sandling, Evan Sandling, Lauren Tate Hudson, Macie Moore and Robert Collins; and three great grandchildren; and brother Robert Caswell Sandling III and wife, Ann of Stem, NC.
