Eliza Miller Harris

Greensboro – Eliza Miller Harris, 85, of 4108 Sheridan Road, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Moses Cone Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 13, 2013, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 AM Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Eliza was born in Rockingham County to the late Dave C. and Florence Witty Miller. She was a member of Church Street Baptist Church. She was a loving, mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Harris; two brothers; one sister; her daughter, Joy Walker; and her son, Jerry Harris. Survivors include her son, Robert Jones and wife, Ella; daughter, Dorothy H. Bailey; son-in-law, Leon Walker; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her brother, Bill Miller and wife, Maryanna; sisters, Helen Holt, Martha Bowman and husband, Marvin, Joanne Southard and husband, Joe; and sister-in-law, Inez Miller.
