Reidsville: Elizabeth “Libby” Strader Johnson, 75, of 809 Norman Street, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Moses Cone Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Duane King officiating. Mrs. Johnson was born in Rockingham County to the late Clarence Cycle and Annie Frances Knight Strader. She was a member of the Piedmont Baptist Church. A loving wife, mother and friend to all she met. She loved sewing, cooking, growing flowers and feeding the birds. She sent cards and letters to those who needed to be lifted up in spirit when down or sick. She loved her family and her church and most of all, she loved the Lord and served him well during her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and those whose lives she touched. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark William Johnson and sister, Frances Strader. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Johnson, Jr. of the home; two sons, Stephen Johnson and fiancée, Wanda Brown, Tracy Johnson and wife, Mary Lee; two daughters, Susan French and husband, Gary, Kay Price and husband Keith; six grandchildren, Stephanie Allen and husband, Daniel, Penny Miller and husband, Bo, Sherry Nava and husband, Daniel, Tracy Johnson, Jr., Jacob French and wife, Nikki and Travis Price and wife, Heather; six great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Strader of California; sisters, Nancy Cross and husband, C. W. of Tennessee, Mary Britt and husband, Junius of Virginia, Sandra Harwood and husband, Sonny of Greensboro; and special friend, Doris Carter. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 31st from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
