Elmer Wayne French

Elmer Wayne French, 75, passed away late Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville with Pastor Gene McDuffie officiating. The burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Wayne was born in Rockingham County on February 25, 1942 to the late Ira Elmer French and Helen East French. Wayne was a loving husband, a caring father and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He loved to go dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. He was currently a member of the 25-year club with Karastan. Special to Wayne were his cats, “Sweet Pea” and “Little Man.” Along with his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Hilda French and his son, Mark French. He is survived by his daughter, Denise Pruitt and husband, Greg of Eden; a son, Bryant French and wife, Bridget also of Eden; daughter-in-law, Donna French of Eden; grandchildren: Jenna Wane French, Bailey Redd, Braxton French, Brystal French, Danah Vernon, Toni Dunovant, and Terry Watson II; great grandchildren: Jaydan Dunovant, Reece Dunovant, Bella Vernon, London Watson, and Brooklyn Watson; brothers: Larry G. French, Danny R. French, Gary V. French, and Randy D. French; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Monday, June 26, 2017, at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
