Elsie Carter Jones

Reidsville: Mrs. Elsie Carter Jones, 98, of Reidsville passed away on Tuesday, November 1st, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 2016 at two o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Rev. Grover Holder and Pastor Paul Lutrell will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from half past twelve until the hour of service. Mrs. Jones was born June 30th, 1918 in Caswell County to the late Sterling Carter and Martha Annie Wingfield Carter. She was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church and Gold Star Wives of America. She adored children and showed compassion to those less fortunate. Elsie was accepting of everyone, extending grace and love to every life that she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsay Grady Jones and is survived by her cousins, Edna, Hilda, Haley and Ida; nieces and nephews, Loraine Dove, Jimmy Carter, Sterling Carter, Deborah Carter, Billy, Chris, Elbert and Billy; grand-nieces and nephews, Martha Carter, Carolyn Brown and husband, Sam; Jasper Carter and wife Cindy; David Carter and wife, Lisa; Angela Carter Howell; numerous other nieces and nephews.
