Elva Helen Brownlee

Reidsville: Elva Helen Brownlee, 86, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Community Baptist Church. Mrs. Brownlee was born in Philadelphia, PA November 17, 1922 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hill Brownlee. She attended Philadelphia Biblical University and later graduated from Columbia International University in Columbia, SC. Elva earned a Masters degree from Wheaton College then served on the faculty of Columbia International. For most of her life she taught elementary school in various Christian schools in North Carolina. Elva had great musical gifts in voice and piano. She used her talent to bring blessing and enjoyment to many. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Brownlee Harding of Matthews, NC. Elva is survived by brother-in-law, William T. Harding, III of Charlotte; nephews, Bill, Joe, Don and David Harding, and one niece, Gwen Smith.
