Elwood Morris Washburn

Reidsville – Elwood Morris Washburn, 79, of 251 Mizpah Church Road, died Saturday,December 27, 2008 at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Washburn was born in Rockingham County to the late Mack and Eva Pate Washburn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War and retired as a road grading supervisor with APAC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Washburn and a sister, Edna Earl Loye. Survivors include his wife, Frances W. Washburn of the home; son, Michael Washburn; grandchildren, Michael Joel Washburn, Matthew Cole Washburn and Jamie Lynn Ward; brothers, Bobby Washburn and David Washburn; sister, Betty Daniels, all of Reidsville. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson funeral home on Monday, December 29, from 6-8 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of Nell Washburn, 334 Sandy Cross Road.
