Ruffin: Emma Frances Evans “Momma”, 76, of 601 Berry Hill Bridge Rd., passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015. Funeral services will be held at11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Harmon officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Emma was born on April 16, 1939, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late William Hassel and Mary Young Tate. She raised her family with her husband George in Rockingham County. She was very religious and loved her church and loved to read the Bible. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Evans and four siblings. Emma is survived by her sons, Randy Evans and wife Lisa, Bruce Evans, Troy Evans and Brian Evans; her grandchildren, Randy Lee Evans, Crystal Gail Evans, Lisa Michelle Evans, Bruce Allen Evans, Jr., Melinda Evans, Holden Evans and Brian Evans, Jr. “Hot Rod”; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother, John Tate and two sisters, Nina Tate and Margaret Suthard. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at 641 Berry Hill Bridge Road.
