Emma Reta McCraw Teague passed away quietly in Sterling Virginia after a brief illness on Saturday May 1, 2021. A private service will be held at 3pm on 8 May 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Rev. CA Brown will be officiating.
Emma McCraw Teague, was a native of Henderson County NC, was the daughter of the late VL and Edna Earl Robertson McCraw. Emma graduated from Henderson High School where she was a small forward on the girls’ basketball team. Emma also took classes at High Point College, Rockingham Community College and Guilford Technical Community College.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Frank McCraw, Harold McCraw, Roy McCraw and Major Alan McCraw also daughter in law Elizabeth Faye Lester Teague and son in law Rev. Mark Mashburn. She is survived by a daughter, Neil Teague Mashburn of Kernersville and Jeffrey Teague of Sterling Va.
Emma was a member of the North Carolina Eastern Star chapter and served as secretary for many years and served by helping others in many capacities. She attended the Evangelical Methodist Church in Reidsville before moving her residence to Greensboro NC. Emma enjoyed cooking, reading and music as well as taking classes in variety of different subjects. Emma loved to travel the world, especially her visit to her ancestral home in the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
She is survived by four (4) grandsons, Thomas Teague and wife Shannon, of Purcellville Va., Zachary Mashburn and wife Lilly of Cary NC., Jonathan Teague and wife April of Leesburg Va. and Seth Mashburn and wife Hannah of Bermuda Run NC. Emma also had five (5) great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. If you wanted to make her happy, put a great grandchild in her arms.
