Erma Mays Pruitt

Erma Mays Pruitt, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Milton Kennon officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00PM until 1:00PM. Erma was born in Rockingham County to the late John Shields Mays and Myrtle Oakes Mays. She was a retiree of Rose’s Stores and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Erma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jack Pruitt, son, Roger Dale Pruitt; grandson, Michael Shane Gann; brothers, Landon ”Bob” Mays and Gilbert Mays; sisters, Aleese Comer, Linda Manley, Bertha Cook, Ruth Smith and Elsie Eaton. Survivors include her son, Ronnie Pruitt and wife, Kendra; daughter, Peggy Lee; grandchildren, Cameron Pruitt, Keenan Pruitt, Rodney Pruitt and Allen Lee; three great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Vivian G.P. Smith and husband, Charles and sister-in-law, Betty Mays. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
