Reidsville: Ernest "Ernie" Dawson McKee, 59, of 146 Penny Lane, died on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Annie Penn Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Covington Wesleyan Memorial Church with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.Ernie was born in Rockingham County to Ila Shelton McKee and the late Neal Herman McKee. He worked with the Rockingham County School System for 35 years as a mechanic supervisor and attended Covington Wesleyan Memorial Church. He loved fishing, NASCAR, the beach and above all he loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Davis McKee of the home; daughters, Melissa "Missy" Vernon and Sandra "Sissy" Wilson; grandchildren, Timmy Wilson, Breanna Wilson and Adam Bartlett; mother, Ila Shelton McKee; brother, Dean McKee and wife, Patricia; niece, Angie Petty; nephew, Jeff McKee.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, March 19th from 6:00 -8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
