Ervin Lester Burge

Reidsville: Ervin Lester Burge, 86, of 5448 NC Hwy 65, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Countryside Manor in Stokesdale. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Smith and Rev. Matt Smith officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM and other times at the residence. Interment will follow in Sandy Cross Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Mr. Burge was born in Surry County to the late James Edgar and Jessie Mae Fain Burge. He was a retiree of Cone Mills and attended Lord’s House of Prayer. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy and Walter Burge and sister, Mary London. Survivors include his wife Helen King Burge; son, Gary Burge and wife Betty; daughter, Vicki B. James and husband, David; grandchildren, Kevin Burge and wife, Alisha and Dana Simmons and husband, Chad; great grandson, Memphis Ray Burge; brother, Richard Burge and wife, Dare; sister, Beatrice Simpson and husband, Junior. The family would like to thank Dr. Kaplan, Dr. Wilson and the staff of Countryside Manor of Stokesdale for the special care given to Mr. Burge during his illness.
