Esther Mitchell Gammon

Reidsville –Esther Louise Mitchell Gammon, 96, passed away on December 5, 2014 at Carolina House of Reidsville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lyle Milligan, Rev, Joey Robertson and Dr. Larry Beaver officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3 PM. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Esther was born in Rockingham County to the late William Pinkney and Mary Oakley Mitchell and was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company. She was a member of Baptist Temple Church and taught Sunday School for 50 years, was secretary for Creative Builders and filed taxes for numerous people for many years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Gammon; sisters, Carrie Baker, Catherine Carter, Marie Turner and Ruby Thacker; brother, Wilmon Mitchell; special nephew, Numa Baker, Jr. and nieces and nephews. Survivors include her daughter, Judith Krell and husband, Raymond; sister, Marion Snow; grandchildren, Tammy Anderson and husband, Ross, Connie Krell, Dennis Krell and wife, Christine and Wayne Krell; great grandchildren, Quinn Anderson, Chase Anderson, Aden Krell, Logan Krell and Ryanne Krell; special nephew, James B. Baker; special niece, Becky Shreve; special friend, Lisa Bateman and nieces and nephews.
