Ethel Ward Baker

Reidsville: Ethel Ward Baker, 89, formerly of 1504 Walnut Street, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017, at Penn Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Clayton and Rev. AC Palmer officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 til 10:45 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home Mrs. Baker was born on February 20, 1927 to the late Major David Ward and Sally Wilson Ward Snow and was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company for 40 years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lonnie Ward; sisters, Gracie Brannick, Novella Massey, Dora Bailey, Jewel Dean Woodson, and Nellie Hawkins. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Blaine Baker; daughter, Margaret Ann Baker; grandson, Joey Baker and brother, Fillmore Ward.
