Ethel Newton Murphy

Ruffin: Ethel N. Murphy , formerly of Ruffin, NC died of natural causes on February 7, 2010 at 12:15 AM at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville, VA at the age of 94. Ethel was born on August 22, 1915, the daughter of the late J.O. and Myrtle Newton of Draper, NC. She was the eldest of nine children and the wife of the late, Albert F. Murphy of Ruffin, NC . She was the Mother of the late P. Grayson Murphy and Frank Murphy, both were of Martsinville, VAShe is survived by sisters, Frances Thompson of Stoneville, NC, Gazelle Cox of Danville, VA; brother, Ray Newton of Chatham, VA; granddaughters, Dana Reeder and husband, Jimmy of Sacramento, CA, Stephanie Hufton and husband, Jimmy of Roanoke, VA; grandson, Darrell G. Murphy and wife, Donna of Eden; She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.A memorial service will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 107 Governors Lane, Martinsville, VA .
