Ethel J. Taylor

Ruffin- Mrs. Ethel J. Taylor, 81, of Ruffin, passed away on Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Taylor was born on August 14th, 1933 in South Carolina. She was a homemaker and a very devoted member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Hicks. Survivors include her husband: Bill Taylor of the home; sons: Gary Hicks and wife, Jewelie of Pemberton, NJ; Tommy Taylor and wife, Diana of Conway, SC; George Edgar Taylor of Hemit, CA; daughters: Lynn Taylor and husband, Wayne of Ruffin; Janie Mixon and husband, Jon of Creedmoor; Laverne Allen of Durham; Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Watkins of Cassette, SC; and her little friend, Tiger. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 22nd, 2015 at two o’clock at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. Rev. Ron Tuck will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. A private interment will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham.
