Evelyn Kernodle Carver

Reidsville: Evelyn Kernodle Carver, 81, of 106 Dana Rae Drive, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2009 at First Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Mark Tolodziechi and Rev. Dan Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Carver was born in Rockingham County to the late Gurley Kernodle and Annie Lucas Kernodle. She retired from the American Tobacco Company and was a member of First Congregational Christian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles E. and Morris Kernodle and a sister, Dorothy Norman. She is survived by her brother, Daniel Kernodle and wife, Ann; great niece, Amy Witty and husband, Stephen; great nephew, Curtis Wray; great great niece, Abigial Witty; special friend, Geneva Pullium; many other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, February 22nd from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of Daniel Kernodle, 2302 S. Scales Street, Reidsville.
