Reidsville - Evelyn Smith Smith, 83, of 1537 Barnes Street, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 31, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Gary and Rev. John Groff officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.Mrs. Smith was born in Rockingham County to the late Worth Raymond "Rainey" and Maggy Carter Smith and was a retiree of Miller Brewing Company. She was a member of Thompsonville Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and helped with the small children of the church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Smith, Sr.; brothers, Raymond, Elwood, Bill and Harry T. Smith; sister, Lucille Jones.Survivors include her son, Robert Henry Smith, Jr.; daughter, Judy Kaye Smith both of Reidsville; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; brother, Roy Smith of Norfolk, Va. The family received friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday evening and other times at the residence.
