Evelyn Soyars Strader

Reidsville –Evelyn Soyars Strader, 86, of 582 Narrow Gauge Road, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel, 1909 Richardson Drive, Reidsville with Rev. Wayne Robertson and Lay Reader, Tom Ham officiating. The family will see friends following the service. Other times the family will be at the home. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Mrs. Strader was born in Rockingham County to the late Otha Fleetwood Soyars, Sr. and Irene Corum Soyars. She was a retiree of Zarn and a lifelong member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Doris Gail Strader; brother, Otha Fleetwood Soyars, Jr.; the father of her children, Henry E. Strader, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Fairy Davis Strader. Survivors include her children, Henry (Hank) E. Strader, Jr., Sandra Kay Strader and Garry Douglas Strader and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Stephanie Ann Strader, Sarah Amanda Strader and Garry Blake Strader. At the family’s request, memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood Presbyterian Church, 618 Narrow Gauge Road, Reidsville, NC 27320 or Rockingham County Animal Shelter, PO Box 206, Wentworth, NC 27375-0206 or Reidsville Public Library, 204 W. Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC 27320. A mother who was loved and respected very much by her three children, for her unfailing love and lessons of responsibility.
