Evelyn Bousman Thore

Greensboro - Evelyn Bousman Thore, 101, of Beacon Place, died on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Evergreen Senior Health Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 12, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Major John Wiley, Captain John Sikes and Rev. Craig Peak officiating. The burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. Pallbearers are David Wilson, Michael Wilson, Timothy Wilson, Kenny Wilson, Darrell Pennell, Jeff Pennell, Ryan Pennell and William Thore, Jr.Mrs. Thore, a native of Pittsylvania County, VA, was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Susie Ellen Cooper Bousman. She was employed with Reidsville Laundry for 20 years and later was employed with the City of Reidsville, and school patrol for another 20 years at Lawsonville Avenue School. She was a longtime member of the Salvation Army Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, David Franklin Thore and Walter Hall; her daughter Helen Louise Thore; two brothers and one sister.She is survived by her son, William Thore of Florida; daughters, Shelby Pennell and husband, Conny and Mildred Morris, all of McLeansville, NC; 5 grandchildren; one special granddaughter, Tonya Dale; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, October 11, 2009, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and other times at the home of Shelby Pennell, 331 Meadow Lane Circle, McLeansville.
