Everette J. Harris

Reidsville Mr. Everette Jackson Harris, born on November 11, 1929, entered into heaven on Friday, June 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jackson and Alice O’Dell Harris and his wife of 51 years, Bonnie Chappell Harris. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at three o’clock in Calvary Baptist Church. Dr. Greg Robertson will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from one until three o’clock in the church fellowship hall. Everette was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Reidsville. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Avery-Dennison in Greensboro, where he was a manager of the printing operation. His love of bluegrass and old-time music was widely known among his family and friends, as he played a variety of stringed instruments with many local groups and friends. He remained very active until his health recently declined, spending much time with his grandchildren and close friends. He is survived by: Daughter, Patricia H. Jarrell and husband, Ernie; Son, James E. Harris and wife, Monica; Grandchildren: Gregory R. Jarrell and wife, Jennifer; Adam M. Jarrell and wife, Tracy; Maria J. Mahoney and husband, Kent; Rebecca M. Harris; Meredith N. Harris; J. Everette Harris; Great-grandchildren: John Tyson Jarrell, Zeb Jarrell and Naomi Jarrell.
