Fanny Moorefield Green Donnell

Reidsville, NC – Fanny “Penny” Moorefield Green Donnell, 89 of 2506 S. Scales Street, passed away Friday, November 21, 2008 at Hospice House of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Worley officiating. Entombment will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Mrs. Donnell was born in Rockingham County to the late, John W. and Rosa Reid Moorefield. She was of the Baptist faith and was a very active member of Community Baptist Church. Penny enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, visiting family and friends and spending time with her beloved cat, Tom. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Penny is survived by her loving husband, Merritt of the home; son, Michael Green and wife, Eleanor of Reidsville; daughter, Sandra Pruitt and husband, Wayne of Reidsville; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; step-children, Sam Donnell and Marvin Donnell, five step-grandchildren, ten step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, special caregivers, Vanessa Jones and Kim Jones and dear friend & neighbor, Laura Shreve. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 23, from 1:00pm – 3:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home prior to the funeral service and other times at the residence of Debbie Woodring, 113 Radford Lane, Reidsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Community Baptist Church Fund, or Community Baptist School; 509 Triangle Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
