Reidsville: Flossie Mae Taylor Seay, 92, formerly of Martinsville Va., passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County with her loving children at her side.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Angie Toth officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3 PM. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Flossie was born on July 4, 1924 in Amherst, Va. to the late Arthur and Carrie Phillips Taylor. She was a retiree of Creighton Shirt Factory with many years of service. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin “Bunny” Taylor and sister, Ruby Taylor Anderson; grandson, Lee McGehee and step granddaughter, Terri Wink.
Survivors include her children, Dean Vernon and husband, Phil of Lakeland, Fl., Willie Seay and Beth Somers both of Reidsville; sisters, Thelma Rigney of Eden and Cupidean Martin of Martinsville,Va.; grandchildren, Page Oestreich and husband, Mark, Larry Nolen and wife, Kim, Jeff Nolen, Andrew Somers and Kim Williams; great grandchildren, Natalie Oestreich, Rachel Oestreich, Craig Nolen, Andy Nolen, Jeremy Nolen, Taylor Varney and husband, Carson, Kaylei Hodge and Dakota Hodge; step grandchildren, Tammy Vernon and Tracy Howard; step great grandchildren, Emily Wink and Jonathan Howard; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by a very special caregiver and friend, Belva McGirt who took loving care of her for six years. Belva loved Ms. Flossie like her own grandmother. She and Ms. Flossie did a lot of fun things together. They talked about God and she would read the Bible to her. She is family to us and we thank her for all the love and care she gave to our mother.
Also a special thanks to her nieces and nephews for all they did during her stay at Hospice.
