Floyd Daniel Gibson

Reidsville: Floyd Daniel Gibson, 81, of 1230 Richardson Drive, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, November 11, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Mr. Jerry Denny and Rev. Ken Goins officiating. The burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with Military graveside rites. Mr. Gibson was a native of Rockingham County and was the son of the late, Andrew and Della French Gibson. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served in the 82nd airborne division and was a proud member of Veterans of America Post 8297. He retired from Fieldcrest Mills and was a member of the Gospel Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and walking the straightway. His love for his family was heard in every word from his heart. Floyd was an avid reader, a hard worker, and loved to travel. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters. Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, Mozelle Knowles Gibson of the home; daughters, Sherri Whitaker, Gail Headrick and Robin Yount; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Gibson; and sister, Elaine Scott. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at home.
