Reidsville- Frances Trent Carroll Cox, 95, went home to her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2018 surrounded by family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Drs. Greg Robertson and Ron Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Wentworth, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June, 26, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. and other times at the home of her daughter Kay Slaydon at 264 Estes Road in Ruffin.
Frances was born on August 24, 1922 to the late Randle and Lucy Trent. Frances was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Brookside Industries.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents and husband Jack Carroll - the father of her children Randy, Mary Jane, Kay, and Judy. After Jack’s death, Frances married Charlie Cox affectionally called Papa Charlie. Frances is also preceded in death by brothers Charlie, Bill, Harry, Harold, and Jim Trent as well as sisters Edna Harris, Mary Bryant, and Thelma Gibson.
Frances is survived by son Randy Carroll of Anchorage, Alaska, daughter Kay Slaydon and husband Kenny of Ruffin, daughter Judy Carroll of Reidsville, granddaughter Amy Eubanks, grandson Derek Martin and wife Brooke, and three great granddaughters - Taylor Eubanks and Paisley and Penelope Martin. Frances is also survived by sisters Susie Roberts and Becky Duggins and husband Johnny, numerous nieces and nephews, and close family friends Steve Eubanks and Anita Vernon.
Frances loved nature and was an avid reader and passed on this love to her children. “With a book you are never lonely and can travel many places”, she would tell us. Frances gave her family deep roots and wings and instilled in them a love for God and His creation.
