Frances Irene Hopper

Reidsville - Frances Irene Hopper, 83, died on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Wilkerson Funeral Home at 2:00 P. M. with Rev. John Groff and Rev. Walt Cooper officiating.. Burial will follow in Happy Home Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Hopper, Richard Hopper, Scott Barham, Matthew Barham, Dennis Paschal, Jr. and Dennis Paschal, III, The family will receive friends Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel, with the funeral service immediately following. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Maynard and Shirley Hopper Hicks, 802 Eastwood Road, Reidsville.Irene was born November 12, 1928 in Rockingham County to the late Russell Hamilton and Iona Mae Gillie Hopper and was a lifelong resident of Reidsville. She spent the last seven years of her life at Jacob's Creek Nursing Center. She worked for many years providing childcare for several Reidsville families and later retired from Creighton, Inc. Irene was a member of Baptist Temple Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters , Mildred Hopper Edwards, Virginia Hopper Cain, Dorothy Hopper McDaniel; brothers, Russell Hampton Hopper and Charles Richard Hopper.Irene is survived by one sister, Betty Hopper Barham of Eden, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff of Jacob's Creek Nursing Center and Hospice of Rockingham County for the care and attention they provided.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.
