Frances Lorene Earles Land

Frances Lorene Earles Land, 89, went home to be with The Lord, Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Gibson Hospice House.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Grace Fellowship Church with Dr. John Mark officiating. The family will receive friends’ Friday, May 6, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at her home.

Lorene was born September 14, 1932, in Rockingham County to the late, Claytus and Gracie Stone Earles. She was a longtime and faithful member of Grace Church (formerly, Congregational Christian Church). Over the years, Lorene had a long career working in textiles serving several different manufacturers. Hospitality was her passion which included family gatherings and mountains of food. She always considered the needs of others before herself. Lorene and Doug loved to travel together with their children always visiting friends and making memories. Along with her parents, Lorene was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren Douglas Land, Sr.; sister Mary Arrington; brothers Ralph Earles and Junior Earles.

Lorene is survived by her children Buster Land and wife Kathy and Karen Wulfeck and husband Sam; grandchildren Beau Land and wife Jen and Corinna Land Rubbo and husband Mike; great grandchildren Logan Rubbo and one on the way, Elizabeth Jane; sister Shelby Paschal and husband Rogers and a large extended family. The family would like to thank the staff at Annie Penn Hospital and the Gibson Hospice House for their loving care and attention to our mom during this difficult time.
