Francine Humphrey Hall

Following a lengthy battle with multiple illnesses, Francine Humphrey Hall of Carolina Beach passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, January 27th at the age of 83 years. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Jerry Hall; daughter Barbara Stearrett (David), son John Hall (W. Robert Howell), and niece/adopted daughter Debra Martin (Kevin Hawkins); and grandchildren Alison Stearrett and Nathaniel Stearrett; sister Rebecca Myers (Ronald) and brothers William Humphrey and Jim Humphrey (Pam). She was predeceased by her parents Roy Lee Humphrey and Frances Wilson Humphrey. 

Born in Rockingham County, NC, she followed her high school sweetheart into his military and then their federal service, eventually retiring to Carolina Beach from the Washington DC area after more than 30 years of accomplishment. Having created lasting bonds with garden clubs and book clubs and church families and gourmet groups and neighbors in Virginia, she immediately created those same bonds in North Carolina. She and her constant generosity and hospitality will be dearly remembered and sorely missed by her many friends on Canal Drive, the U. S. Power Squadron, and Harbor United Methodist Church, among others. 

Her door was always open, she never met a stranger, she always cooked too much in case someone could use it, and she never threw anything out!
