Francis I. “Tommy” Thompson, 84, of Reidsville passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Woodmont United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Christy officiating.
Tommy was born in Princeton, WV to the late F.I. and Rachel White Thompson. He was a graduate of Culpeper High School and Concord College with a B.S. Degree in accounting. He was employed with Burlington Industries for 35 years and served in 14 locations. He enjoyed helping with many service organizations and was most proud of receiving the Jaycees Distinguished Service award in both North Carolina and Virginia. He was a member at Woodmont United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sue Johnson Thompson; daughter, Carolyn Pruitt and husband, Bobby and their son, Dr. Tripp Pruitt and wife, Dr. Julie Pruitt; son, Frank Thompson and wife, Sandra, and their son, Ivan Thompson and wife, Julie and great granddaughter, Averie; nephew, Gary; nieces, Karen and Denise; special friends, Shelia Gwynn, Michelle Sizemore and Angie Wood; and special canine companion, Penny.
