Eden: Gail Evans-Jones of Mayodan, passed away March 20, 2016.
Her body was sent for cremation under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville, NC. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Eden, NC on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends after the memorial service.
Gail was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Walter Sherman Speight and Louise Hartsell Speight. She spent 15 years as Executive Director of the Rockingham Pregnancy Care Center (RPCC) in Eden, NC where she was committed to improving the lives of teen girls, women and their children. She was a fierce advocate of the underserved and devoted her life to making Rockingham County better. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and giving friend to all who knew her.
Gail is preceded in death by her father, Walter Speight; her brother, Stan Speight; grandparents, David and Grace Speight and Jewel and Desie Hartsell.
Gail is survived by her husband, Jimmy Jones; son, Drake Evans and wife, Laura; daughter, Paige Evans; son, Todd Evans and wife Devan; son, Lee Jones and wife, Hethur; son, Blair Jones; daughter, Tiffany Jones; and six grandchildren, Tori and Jack Evans; Cole, Cooper, Nora and Ellory Charlotte; and her beloved dogs, Madison and Artie.
