Galen was born in Rockingham county on November 21, 1939, to Herbert Edwin Shockley and Bessie Williams Shockley. He was one of nine children. Galen loved all types of cars and trucks. He had a large collection of model cars, many of which he custom-made. Galen loved his family and friends. He loved to share the word of Jesus Christ with everyone he met. He was such a blessing to all that knew him.
