Garry Marvin Smith

Reidsville - Garry Marvin Smith, Sr., 62, of 1330 Brooks Road, passed away July 18, 2009, at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009, at 4:00 P. M. at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wendell Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mr. Smith was born in Rockingham County to the late Luther and Ethel Miller Smith. He was retired from The American Tobacco Company after 30 years of service. Garry was an avid fisherman and adored all of his many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Smith and granddaughter, Kaitlynn Poindexter. Garry is survived by his son, Garry "Marty" Marvin Smith, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Tammy Smith of the home; grandchildren, Brenden and Brianna Poindexter both of the home; brothers, Robert Smith and wife Rama, William Herbert Smith; sisters, Patricia Knight and husband, Paul, Leona Crowder and husband, Allen and Lois Hall all of Reidsville The Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
