Reidsville – Gay “Shorty” Trent Lovelace, 71, of 235 Cook Florist Road, passed on Monday, September 13, 2010, at his home surround by his loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Clayton and Rev. Gaylord Dix officiating. The interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Mr. Lovelace was born on January 13, 1939 to the late Clarence Oliver and Willie Mae Pruitt Lovelace. “Shorty” retired after 25 years of service from the American Tobacco Company. He enjoyed the simple things of life such as fishing, mountain trips but most of all he loved sitting under a large oak tree in the back yard. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Louie and Mattie Lovelace; brothers, Marvin Lovelace, Ronnie McCraw; sisters, Viloree McKinney and Barbara Ann Reagan.
Mr. Lovelace is survived by his wife of 51 years Virginia “Louise” Lovelace of the home; daughter, Tammy Lovelace; son, Rodney Lovelace; grandchildren, Krissy, Justin, Cody, Shianne; sisters, Linda Southard and husband, Jerry, Kathy Everette and husband, Tommy; brothers, Tim Lovelace and wife, Carolyn, Jimmy McCraw and wife, Diane, Donnie “Spud” McCraw and wife, Tammy; special friends, Carson Dawson, Haywood Fergerson and Larry Guill.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 15 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
