George Edgar "Eddie" McKinney

Reidsville: Mr. George Edgar “Eddie” McKinney, 91, of Reidsville, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 24th, 2014. Eddie was born December 19th, 1922 in Rockingham County to the late George and Annie Ethel McKinney. He was a well-respected and active automobile dealer until the age of 91. Mr. McKinney proudly served his country in WWII and was honorably discharged and awarded the Purple Heart. . He was preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Ruth Perkins McKinney, the mother of his two sons and daughter. He is survived by his wife, Joann Bevan McKinney of the home; son Raeford McKinney and daughter-in-law Deborah of Ashburn, VA, son Charles McKinney of Roanoke, VA.; and daughter Deloris McKinney of Roanoke, VA. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the family residence. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, August 27th, 2014 at Thompsonville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev Mike Campbell officiating.
