George William "Junior" English, Jr.

George William ”Junior” English, Jr., 67, went home on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, 2023, and other times at the home of his mother-in-law, Lelia Lawrence. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville with Pastor Chris Cox officiating, 103 Clearview Dr. Martinsville, VA 24112.

Junior was born on April 26, 1956, in Hawkinsville Georgia. He never met a stranger and loved going fishing with his brother and mello-yello. He was known as a gentle giant and for his witty humor who loved helping people and making them laugh. More than anything, he loved his family, especially the babies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George William, Sr. and Katherine Monahan English; grandson, Greyson Coleman; great-grandson, Jonah English; and infant sister, Marie English.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky Lawrence English; children, Jonathan English and Heather, Grey English and Amber, Hailey Young; grandchildren, Zach English and Caroline, Chris Reyes and Kayla, Jonathan English II, Trista English, Katie Young, Riley Bowles, Emberlee Santamaria, Courtlynne Bowles, Kinley Parnell, Adleigh Parnell, Parker Parnell, Colton Young, Remi English, Marshall English and Hailey Coleman; great-grandchildren, Charlee “Chuck” English, Ophelia Reyes, Cameron Mitchell, Dominic Mitchell, and Arianna Mitchell; siblings, Ruby Brown, Theressa Weddle, Patty Dodson and Adam, Wesley English and Donna; special long time friend, Billy Byrd; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,  501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
