Reidsville—George Walton Williams, Jr., 79, of 1105 Benton Lane, passed away on Monday, February 22nd, 2010, at the Hospice of Rockingham County after a period of declining health.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 27th at Wilkerson Funeral Home, 1909 Richardson Drive in Reidsville, with Dr. Clay Warf, Shannon Newsome and Chaplain Sherry Jones officiating. The burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.Mr. Williams was born in Reidsville, NC to the late George W. Williams, Sr. and Maymie Tate Williams. He attended North Carolina State University and served in the United States Navy as an instructor in Radar during the Korean Conflict. He operated his own electronic service business and taught electronics at Rockingham Community College and at Morehead High School. Mr. Williams was a long time member of Reidsville Christian Church and operated the sound system for many years. He was an avid HAM operator and his call name was, W4NAP.Along with his parents, Mr. Williams was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Moose Williams and his daughter, Maria Leigh Williams.He is survived by his sister, Claire Williams Parker and her husband, Dr. David H. Parker of Stuarts Draft, VA. Also he is survived by a niece, Kimberly Parker of Amherst, VA and nephew David H. Parker, Jr. and wife, Robin S.
