Georgia Collins Martin

Ms Georgia “Dink” Collins Martin, 80, passed away on June 27, 2019 at Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. A graveside service will be held on Sunday June 30, 2019 at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with a visitation for family and friends to follow afterward. Visitation at other times will be at the home of Lori Huffman. Mrs. Martin was born on September 4, 1938 in Alamance County to Dallas Woodrow Collins and Lula Perkins Collins. “Dink” was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to dance and was forever dressing young. Her dad always said that she was better than any man at housing tobacco. She was a devoted Christian and always trusted in her Lord through the many trials in her life. Her favorite country music song was, “Hello Darling” by Conway Twitty. Along with her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her one true love, William “Bill” Martin, and three brothers: Bobby, Benjamin and Joseph Collins. Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughter, Lori M. Huffman and husband, Donald; son, Timmy Martin of Eden, NC; grandchildren: Chris Lee Huffman (Candie) and Lori H. Harris (Justin), and five great grandchildren: Aidan, Verity, Tanner, Tinsley and Teigan; and a sister, Katie C. Porterfield of Reidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family appreciates the staff at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehab Center for all they did during her stay there, as well as the staff at Moses H. Cone Hospital.
