Ruffin- Georgie Collie Simpson, 71, of 442 Ruffin Road, died on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at her residence.Funeral services will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11:00AM with Rev. Ron Tuck and Rev. Garfield Doss officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.Mrs. Simpson was born in Rockingham County to the late George Thomas Collie, Jr. and Hazel Perkins Collie and was retired from the Rockingham County School System. Georgie was a member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred “Dibbie” Bray and grandbaby, Sandra Marie Wyatt.She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Simpson of the home; son, Aubrey Thomas Simpson of Ruffin; daughter, Tammy Simpson Wyatt and husband, Timothy of Ruffin; grandchildren, Ashley Wyatt and Ian Wyatt; brothers, George Collie and wife, Brenda and Mike Collie and wife, Vickie; sisters, Laura Laws and husband, Dillard, Jennie Collie Scott and husband Al, Violet Gelinas and husband, Don and Lena Wall and husband Don; brother-in-law, Wayne Bray.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, September 25, 2009 7:00PM-9:00PM and other times at the residence.
