Geraldine Stanley Chilton

Geraldine “Geri” Stanley Chilton, 89, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville, NC with Rev. Phil Surrett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside committal will follow the service at Lowes United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Geri was born in Guilford County to the late Charlie Carson Stanley and Kathryn Louise Patterson. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Curtis S. Chilton and brother, Ronnie Stanley.

Geri raised three children while maintaining a career at the IRS. She loved camping, hiking, frosted lemonades and good hair days. After both Geri and Curtis retired, they set out on an RV adventure across the United States, eventually reaching Alaska. They were both Tarheel fans and often traveled to see them play bowl games out of state and at home in Chapel Hill. Geri especially enjoyed playing the family card game “Oh Heck” and often beat her brother Donald, as long as she could remember her bid. She was devoted to her family and her family was devoted to her. We’ll miss her energy and Pot Roast. Goodbye Gigi, send our love to Papa C when you see him. Such a long, long time to be gone and short time to be here.

Geri is survived by her children, Lisa Tomlin (Doug), Cindy Chilton, and Darren Chilton (Slavica Nikolic); grandchildren, Brooke Cranfill (Chris), Brad Tomlin (Meredith), and Marina Nikolic-Chilton; Great grandchildren, Kayleigh Cranfill, Addison Cranfill, Cooper Tomlin and Isla Tomlin; siblings, Donald Stanley (June) as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
